Easily the most.. "proffessional" game vid I've seen if nothing else. Great vid man, great vid

How did you do the person walking in the foreground thing?

1) Filmed yourself walking while slowed, looped the animation after cutting yourself out of many excessive amounts of frames?
2) Have something which lets you crack the GW's dat file and view the models
3) some other method? :/

I'd really like to know :/

Laughed so much I wet a little.

Anet needs to seriously consider hiring you do do a cut-scene or two.
Then nobody would mind when a newb wants to watch 'em.

Hervorragende Arbeitsleistung!

Hi to all and thank you for all the comments about my video
Ok, I'll try to explain how I created this movie. Please excuse me for my bad english, I'll try my best and I hope you'll understand most parts

At first I changed my E/Mo to E/W so it was possible to use the Dolyak Signet for slow walking. I recorded a short walking sequence infront of a bright plain hill in the desert:

For capturing I use FRAPS with a resolution of 1024x768 at 25 fps.
Now I imported the videofile with the walking sequence into Adobe After Effects and exported one loop cycle (21 pictures) as a photoshop-picture-sequence.
Now I cut out the background by using the mask tool in Photoshop for each of the 21 frames (Most frustrating part of all );

I re-imported all the pictures as psd-sequence into my After Effects Project and looped the sequence several times to receive a walk-animation.
But how to make Luke "singing" ?
I created a few face-expressions for luke in Photoshop:

I opened the "face-pictures" together with the song ("Boom! Shake the Room!") in Adobe Premiere and matched the face frame-by-frame to the vocals. After that I exported the timeline to an uncompressed avi-file. So I had some kind of "singing-mouth-movie".

Now I changed back to After Effects and imported the mouth-animation. Next step was to put the moving-mouth over the original face. But there was a little problem: If you take a look at the walk-animation you can see Luke's head moving left and right while walking. So I used After Effects Motion-Tracker to make the new head follow the old one:

Motion-Tracker controls in After Effects:

Mapping the new face over the old one by using a mask and motion-tracker-data:

Luke is walking and singing now:

Ok, and of course I added some backgrounds from the game, some effects and emotes to complete the movie.

If you have any question regarding the video, feel free to send me a pm or an email.
Thanks and good night (it's late in Germany )
Jack

Awesome! Don't know what else to say. A friend told me to look for this because it was "good." Heh... understatement. Far exceeded my expectations. The best game video I've seen.

And thanks for sharing the "making of."
